Pohnpei is the largest of the four states of the Federated States of Micronesia and it includes the national capital and national government offices, as well as the largest and most active business community in Micronesia.

We have made substantial changes in the 1990s in moving toward an open and welcoming foreign investment climate.  We have a simple foreign investment registration process, based on new legislation.  We are privatizing a number of former state functions and corporations most notably in the fishing and fish processing sector with important investment opportunities. The Pohnpei state government has set aside substantial public land areas for resort development and manufacturing.  We are proud of our successful investors from the USA, Japan, Korea and Australia, as well as local businessmen.
