e welcome foreign investors and joint venture partners to our islands.  Chuuk, (formerly Truk), is the most populous state in the Federated States of Micronesia, is a large atoll with several beautiful islands, and has the world's second largest enclosed lagoon.  Chuuk is situated close to Guam, which is our major transportation link and major export market for local fish and agricultural products.

Chuuk has excellent facilities for tuna long-liner servicing and transshipping to the Japanese market, we welcome fishermen and investors in the fishing sector.  Chuuk has excellent potential, as well as available facilities, for value-added fish processing.

The centerpiece of Chuuk's economic growth strategy is the tourism potential for resorts and activities  related to our world famous "Truk Lagoon".  This is the world's only site of sixty Japanese ships sunk during WW II and various underwater artifacts that can be seen by diving and snorkeling.  Diving the Truk Lagoon is a must for the world's scuba divers. In addition to diving, there is enormous potential for water activities such as yachting, sailing, fishing, and wind surfing.
